3-28 Good and bad day

Well, today during the day was great. XiaoTing was her usual happy fun self. We had brought some balloons per the suggestion of a few other families who have traveled. We blew them up and they were a big hit. We took our laundry down the street to get it done and then we went shopping. We bought XiaoTing some new clothes (about $20 US for 2 pants, a skirt and two tops !!), some new shoes and a hat. Her favorite are a pair of sunglasses we bought her. When she gets something new that is hers, she puts it under her pillow in the bed at night. We went out for a walk, it was a really nice night. We also went to a place for dinner, but again had problems ordering. Jenny is going to come with us tonight to help us order.

Last night was the first bad night. XiaoTing and Sarah went to bed and I wasn't tired, so I did not lay down with her. She started crying shortly after Steve and I left the room. She was very upset. I tried to tell her don't cry and don't be afraid, but I could tell something was really wrong. Her eyes, which are so expressive, were very scared. She wouldn't look at us and had a look of sheer terror on her face. We called Jenny and she came to the room and talked to her for about 1/2 hour. She wouldn't talk, just shaking her head and big tears rolling down her face. All of us were crying, seeing how scared she was. Jenny said she was scared because I left the room and she missed her friends and caregivers from the orphanage. It was so very sad. I was in bed holding her hand all night, but I didn't sleep much and cryed alot.

However, I woke her up at 2 a.m. to go to the bathroom and she was smiley again and when I said Mama Loves You (in Chinese) she gave me a kiss.

She is back to her energetic and smiley self so far today.

Keep the prayers coming as she works through her fears.

God Bless,
Marie

Marie, I can only imagine how heart-breaking it was for all of you that night. I will keep Xiao and you all in my prayers.

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Phil 4:6-7
