11/16 Update

Last week, I talked to a lady who works for Senator Kohl's office. She used to work at the USCIS, so she was able to speak with Andy, the fellow who does the I171's. He is way behind, but is going to try to do 40-50 by the end of this week. Another lady who was waiting just got hers today, so there is hope.

My friend Jane at work finished the letter for Xiao and is now working on some phrases that I will use to label the pictures. Hope to get this done soon so we can send this with the dossier. I want to print the letter on some really neat rainbow letterhead. I will try to do that tonight. I had to install the Chinese translator on my PC in both Windows XP and Office. Seems to work ok.

I ordered some books that are Chinese/English and have CD's with them. I'm hoping this will help Xiao feel more at home hearing her language and also help her learn English. I also got a Mulan VHS and a DVD with 24 short cartoon stories in Chinese/English.


Other than that, just waiting. New of a terriorist alert in Guangzhu and bird flu have me a bit worried, but since we probably won't be traveling for a few months yet, I'm trying not to get too worried.
