Jan. 12th - She got our letter and photo album!

Haven't posted in awhile, not much has happened regarding the adoption over the past month. We did have a very busy December, with Sarah's 10th birthday, Christmas, my Dad's birthday, etc.

When we sent our dossier, we also sent a letter and photo album (translated to Chinese) to Xiao Ting via Holt. I had asked Holt for updated measurements and also to confirm that she got the letter/photos I got an email last week that she did get the letter and photos. Here is what the email said:

Xiao Du called the orphanage staff Ms. Wang Xiao Mei, She said she got the album. Also she shared following information:

1. When she talked to Xiao Ting about finding a pair of parents for her, the little girl was not sure. After she saw the album, she was very happy to have new parents. Xiao Ting's teacher explains the album to her once a day!

2. Xiao Ting is a kind of petite to her age.

3. When being asked if the teacher teaches English to kids at Hami orphanage, Ms. Wang Xiao Mei said no. But she promised to try to find tape or VCD on English learning for kids to prepare Xiao Ting.

It is such a relief to know she got this and that they are preparing her. I'm sure the transition will be tough for her anyway, but at least she is as prepared as a five year old can be !!

We also got updated measurements. She is about a size 4 or 4T. However, the height and weight don't seem right. She is in the 25th percentile for height on the Chinese growth chart but it says the 95th percentile for weight. She sure didn't look chubby on the pictures. I think the weight is off, maybe they weighed her with several layers of clothes.

Now I need to start getting the packing list together, Steve and I need to get our Hep B shots and I need to start shopping for gifts and stuff for the trip.

God Bless,
Marie
